Programmes hosted by Jacob Rees-Mogg, Esther McVey and Philip Davies were found to be in breach
‘Our 14 hour old baby died after hospital failures - we’ll never get over it’Jacob Rees-Mogg’s State Of The Nation on GB News was among the episodes to breach Ofcom rules on impartiality , as well as former pensions secretary Esther McVey and her husband Philip Davies, a backbench MP, fell foul of impartiality rules.
A spokesperson for GB News said the channel was “deeply concerned by the decisions Ofcom has made” and described the ruling as “a chilling development for all broadcasters”. The independent regulator found it “was necessary and proportionate” to find a breach of impartiality rules for the five shows in question.“Politicians have an inherently partial role in society and news content presented by them is likely to be viewed by audiences in light of that perceived bias,” the statement said.
A GB News spokesperson hit out at the Ofcom decision and said the regulator must ensure “alternative voices are heard”.
