Cody Gakpo has struggled to replicate his Eredivisie form since joining Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Manchester United and his brother, Roberto, has been active on social media to boast his accolades throughout the season. Roberto has never shied away from commenting about footballing matters on X and jumping to the defence of Alejandro.
Gakpo, who was linked with a move to Old Tafford, completed the £35million move to Liverpool in January 2023, and has struggled to replicate his sensational Eredivisie form and tie down a regular spot in Klopp's team. "Cody had a bit of a struggle in between the season, it was more my fault," Klopp previously said. "We spoke about can Cody play a midfield position for us, yes he can in different moments. Is it his position? I would say no. The offensive part of the role he can definitely play, but with the defensive things which he was not used to, that cost him a bit of confidence in moments, you could see that.
