Buses were forced to divert after gangs caused mayhem on streets in Merseyside. Young people were reported to be throwing items at houses, damaging cars, and throwing fireworks at a bus stop. North West Arriva had to divert one of its services due to the anti-social behavior.
Officers received reports of groups of young people throwing items at houses, damaging cars and throwing fireworks at the bus stop on Midway Road and Bakers Green Road in Huyton on Sunday, October 29 between 6.30pm and 9.40pm.
A spokesperson said: "Service 7 is currently unable to safely serve Bakers Green Road and will divert for the rest of the evening due to several incidents of anti social behaviour." Earlier this week Chief Inspector Duncan Swan said: “As you will know Halloween and Bonfire Night are always a busy period for all the emergency services because of a small of number of young people who tend to act in an anti-social and irresponsibly manner.
