With Jonathan Bond sidelined for possibly a month, the reserve goalkeeper is ready to take over starting Saturday in Portland
Jonathan Klinsmann is always the first Galaxy player out on the field for warmups.
Klinsmann had a couple of big moments in relief of Bond and will now move into the starting lineup as Bond recovers. Galaxy coach Greg Vanney said Bond could be sidelined for “2-4 weeks.”“We have trained our system over a couple of years now and I have been lucky to have been part of the team for those couple of years, so I think jumping in for me as far as the system goes, I think it was seamless and it was easy,” the son of U.S. national team coach Jürgen Klinsmann said.
“He’s been champing at the bit for an opportunity to get a little run of games here to see how that looks … It’s unfortunate, you never want Bondy to get hurt, but this is how the game is and now it’s time for JK to get some reps and see how he does.”
