More than 300 additional signs will be in place by the end of the year

Travellers will be able to push a button for an audio announcement of how long they’ll need to wait until the next bus arrives. The scheme is part of a wider rollout from TfL to introduce 300 new Countdown signs by the end of the year. The 63 route, which runs between King’s Cross and Honor Oak, operates with zero-emission double decker buses.TfL is introducing changes to try and get Londoners back on the buses, and will increase the number of countdown boards by 12% across the city.Louise Cheeseman, TfL’s director of buses, said she hopes improvements will help make buses a ‘natural choice’ for passengers when theShe said: ‘We know that customers highly value real-time information on when their next bus in coming.

‘We are now looking at the next generation of technology, using the route 63 as a pilot. It is all part of our Bus Action Plan, which is aimed at increasing the number of people on buses, particularly in outer London.’
