Family members have left loving messages this week to relatives who have passed away
Announcing the death of a family member has been a time-honoured tradition for family and loved ones. We have gathered the messages posted this week in one place.
He was a long standing member of East Lancashire Steam Railway, plus the Oily Rags friends meeting at The Buffer Stop. Alan was also a member of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club for many years. He leaves wife Belle and her daughter Lisa, grandchildren: Cathy, Sam and Jack, Wayne and Natalie, and Paul. Great-grandchild Lola, and adoptive great-grandchildren Blake, Bella, and Bryanna and a niece and nephew.
Husband to Sheila, brother to the late Vera, late Evelyn, late John and step-brother to Joe, brother-in-law, uncle and leaves nephews and nieces. He was also god-father to Jade and friend to many. Born in Liverpool, John won a scholarship to St Edwards RC College and then attended Liverpool University. After many years as a personnel manager for Littlewoods Stores, John went on to become a director of an HR consultancy and in 1995, together with Yvonne, he formed the very successful HR and Safety consultancy, First Business Support, here in Rawtenstall. By the time the company was sold in 2007, it employed 150 people.
A wake will follow at Allerton Manor Golf Club, Liverpool. Family flowers only please. Donations if preferred either to Civic Pride Rossendale or Beacon Dementia and Wellbeing.
