Stores in ‘underperforming’ areas are set to close Pizza chain Papa John’s has announced it plans to close 43 stores across the UK. It plans to close stores in areas that are ‘underperforming’ after launching a review at the start of this year. Papa John’s International announced the stores will close by mid-May. It has not yet been confirmed how many staff will be impacted by the planned closures.
‘Our goal is to work with impacted team members and attempt to find redeployment opportunities where available. ‘We understand the impact this will have on our team members and are committed to supporting them during this time.’ ‘Strategic closures’ were previously confirmed by Papa John’s to improve profitability and free up money. There are potential plans to expand into holiday parks and retail parks in the coming months.
