Frozen 3 is happening, but it has 5 franchise problems it needs to fix to make up for the mistakes of Frozen 2 and continue into the future.
Frozen 3 is officially happening, but it has five big problems that it needs to fix with the Frozen franchise. Frozen 2 proved to be somewhat disappointing to many viewers after the trailers generated a lot of hype for the film. Despite Frozen 2's lackluster story and mixed critical reception, Frozen 3 is still happening, but the movie needs to fix some significant problems in order to continue the Frozen franchise into the future.
For a fairy tale like Frozen, detailed lore isn't needed, as the magic and wonder of the world is the whole appeal of the story. Frozen 3 needs to avoid going too deep into the lore, telling a lighthearted and simple story akin to that of the original Frozen. Nobody cares about Frozen 2's dense mythology, as the world of Frozen doesn't have to make perfect logical sense to be enjoyable.
In order to fix the Frozen franchise's protagonist problem, Anna needs to step back into the spotlight alongside Elsa for Frozen 3. One easy way to do this would be to have Anna and Elsa together for the entirety of the story. Both Frozen and Frozen 2 see Elsa run away and Anna going after her, meaning that the two sisters are split up for most of the movie. Having Anna and Elsa stay together would mean that they both get similar amounts of screen time, fixing the Frozen 2 issue.
