Reports suggest the fire may have broken out at a former school building
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that four fire engines are currently attending an incident on Gartsherrie Road the alarm was raised at around 5.17pm.Reports on social media suggest that the blaze may have broken out at the site of the former Gartsherrie Primary School.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:"We received a call at 5.16pm to reports of a building fire on Gartsherrie Road in Coatbridge. "We initially mobilised two appliances, but currently have four mobilised to deal with the incident".
