Police alleged the driver drove toward officers standing in a ditch while trying to avoid tire deflation devices on Highway 219.

Saskatoon police said in a media release on Monday that patrol officers saw a stolen Jeep Cherokee that was spray-painted black, at Diefenbaker Drive and 22nd Street West around 8:30 p.m. on July 14.When officers tried to stop the Jeep in a parking lot in the 200 block of Fairmont Drive, the driver “fled at a high-rate of speed,” the release said.fficers put tire deflation devices on the highway, but the driver instead “veered” toward officers standing in a nearby ditch, avoiding the devices.
A 26-year-old woman, allegedly the driver, is charged with dangerous driving, evading police, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and three counts of assault with a weapon. Three other passengers, two 36 years of age and one 45-year-old, were charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.Recommended from Editorial
