Angelo Cane, who is the founder of much-loved Glasgow Italian, Sarti, has sadly passed away. Tributes have poured in for the 'great friend' who will be 'sorely missed'.
Angelo Cane, founder of Fratelli Sarti, died in London yesterday, March 26. Today, his heartbroken Glasgow team issued a heartfelt message to their Facebook as they shared the sad news with customers.
It has been said that anyone who knew Angelo was "blessed" to have met him - he has been described as a "great friend" who will be sorely missed.READ MORE: Lanarkshire mum's 'miracle' baby joy after crushing cancer diagnosis Sarti posted a picture of Angelo, alongside a message which read: "It is with great sadness with which we write to inform you that Angelo Cane, our dear friend and founder, suddenly passed away in London yesterday.
"A great man whose passing will bring sadness to many. We ask that you join us in respecting his family's wish for privacy at this most difficult time.Commenting on their post, one said: "Very sad to hear this. Angelo was a lovely man who always entertained us greatly at the wine tastings. Thoughts & prayers with his family", another added, "Omg I can’t believe I’m reading this. RIP Angelo.
