One of the final three Superman frontrunners in James Gunn's Superman: Legacy has broken his silence on Twitter after losing the DC Universe role.
Following the confirmation of David Corenswet being tapped as the Man of Steel in James Gunn's Superman: Legacy, one of the other two final frontrunners reacts to losing the role on Twitter. The DC Universe is getting steps closer to finally coming to life as Gunn and Peter Safran are currently working on one of DC Studios' biggest projects, which is Superman: Legacy.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT As of this week, Superman: Legacy officially cast its Lois Lane and Clark Kent, as screentests had been going on for the last few weeks. The role of Superman ultimately went to Corenswet, who was one of the top candidates, along with Tom Brittney and Nicholas Hoult. Following Corenswet's official casting, Brittney took to Twitter to share his brief but sweet response.
Brittney and Hoult had reportedly done screentests with Emma Mackey as of last week, but in the end, it was Corenswet and Brosnahan who won the gigs as Superman and Lois. Hoult has, at the time of this story's publication, not spoken about his Superman: Legacy audition process.Which Characters Are James Gunn Casting Next For Superman: Legacy? While Superman: Legacy may have its Man of Steel and Lois, the upcoming reboot is far from done casting.
Another iconic member of the Daily Planet staff who Superman: Legacy is looking to cast is Jimmy Olsen, although no actors have been revealed to be up for him. Members of The Authority are also said to be getting their big-screen introduction through Superman: Legacy. This would, in turn, set up The Authority movie, which was one of the major Chapter 1, "Gods and Monsters" projects announced earlier this year.
There will likely be other Superman players getting introduced in this film as well. With the possibility of the SAG-AFTRA strike going into effect, this may delay the casting process for Superman: Legacy, meaning it might be a while until news about additional actors joining the film comes out. Hopefully, however the rest of 2023 plays out, Gunn will have his Superman: Legacy cast completed in time for their 2024 production start.
