The unit has been empty since last year
There's good news on the horizon for food lovers in Nottingham city centre - especially those who love Asian food and want a quick bite to eat. The shutters are set to rise on the former home of Nottingham Street Food Club in Victoria Centre , with not one but two new outlets.
Hoardings have gone up revealing that Japami and Thai Express are to open in the unit on the top floor that has been vacant since the street food venture decided against renewing its lease last year due to rising costs. It has since been out on the road, running festivals at venues such as Trent Bridge, the home of Notts County Cricket Club.
Thai Express, which has more than 200 stores worldwide, is a new take on the cuisine, offering fast casual Thai dining. The first opened in Canada more than ten years ago and after opening four locations across Greater London, an expansion is planned across the Midlands. Sites in Leicester and Birmingham have already opened. The menu offers favourites such as tom yum soup, stir fries and noodles, including, of course, pad Thai. Customers can choose their spice levels.
There's no further information about Japami. Both businesses state they will be "opening soon". Pokewaves, a Hawaiian kiosk, next to the unit recently closed down.
