Plans to redevelop the area around the former Anchor Inn in Bolton promise to bring more jobs to the area
A former pub and nearby car park are set to be redeveloped into a small industrial estate. Plans have been published to convert the former Anchor Inn pub on Eagle Street, Bolton into a ‘ co-working space ’.
The proposed site, close to St Peter’s Way, is within the Mill Hill employment area. The planned new industrial estate will also border Bury Old Road, Elton Street, and Thornton Street. A design and access statement on behalf of applicant Mr K Mistry has been published by Bolton Council. “By offering flexible options that can easily adapt to growing needs, these units will help ensure that business investment is retained within the area.” The Anchor Inn, which dates back to 1848, at one time had its own fish and chip shop built into it.
