Reports in Italy say former Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is eyeing up a potential takeover of mid-table League One side Charlton Athletic
Former Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is believed to be interested in buying League One club Charlton Athletic, according to a report from Italian outlet Brescia In Gol. The Italian currently owns Brescia, who are seventh in the Italian second-tier table, but is thought to be keen on experiencing English football for a second time.
The report adds that Cellino has no intention of selling Brescia without having another club lined up to purchase. The Addicks, languishing in 15th position in League One, are currently owned by the company SE7Partners. Their members include the former Sunderland director Charlie Methven.
