A woman who used to work as a hotel manager has taken to TikTok to reveal what she always does as a hotel guest — no matter if it’s a five-star hotel or one-star — and TikTokers are super grossed out.
“Before you even enter your room, think of the hotel elevator buttons as germ hotspots,” the website states. “They are being pressed all the time by many different people, which can transfer microorganisms onto the button surface, as well back onto the presser’s fingers.”
And while we may think bathrooms and beds are the most germ-infested areas in hotel rooms, it’s actually the objects found around your room that might pose the biggest health risk. “Less thought about is what lives on the hotel room desk, bedside table, telephone, kettle, coffee machine, light switch or TV remote — as these surfaces aren’t always sanitized between occupancies.”TikTokers were shocked by Melly’s videos and thankful for her insider knowledge.
“After watching all these videos from TikTok, I now get the ick every time I stay in a hotel😅😅” commented“Don’t understand how it’s acceptable to not have to wash all pieces of bedding! There needs to be some sort of regulation so that can change.
