Washington Ohio farmer Christopher Gibbs is weighing an independent run to unseat one of President Donald Trump's strongest supporters attached to the House impeachment inquiry -- Rep. Jim Jordan.
Gibbs, a former local Republican official, voted for Trump in 2016. But he became an outspoken critic of the President's trade policies and has declared his independence from the GOP. "The two-party system has failed Americans," Gibbs told CNN's Kate Bolduan on Monday. "People are just literally tired of that," added Gibbs, who raises cattle and grows soybeans, alfalfa and corn.
