One quarterback taken over the weekend got a comparison, sort of, to maybe the greatest quarterback of all time.
Now, if anyone would know a thing or two about Brady, it would probably be McDaniels from his time working with him in New England. And O’Connell proved he could play in the Big Ten. He passed for 9,219 yards in his career, which is good for sixth on the school’s records list. He was also accurate – a big Brady trait — completing 72 percent of his passes last season.
So, maybe there’s a little Brady to him. And, again, it should be stressed that McDaniels was just talking about the guy’s release, but attaching Brady to O’Connell has the internet talking about one of the Raiders’ newest additions in a way he probably didn’t expect.
