Ohio reproductive-rights groups are planning to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot to protect abortion rights in coming years, according to officials with the groups.

COLUMBUS, Ohio –

“We are expecting to do a constitutional amendment,” said Lauren Blauvelt-Copelin, vice president of government affairs and public advocacy for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio. “We, being the repro groups, as we work together, will continue to do anything and everything that we can to protect access to abortion in Ohio, fight for access to abortion in Ohio. And we recognize the very real reality that this is coming to Ohio.
