The public has been warned of potential flooding around several rivers across Lancashire and Cumbria as heavy rainfall continues to pour down.
A flood alert indicates that those living in an area should prepare, including making defences, preparing a bag that includes medicines and insurance documents, and staying up to date with the latest flood alerts. A flood warning indicates a greater level of severity and its advised you turn off gas, water and electricity, and move your possession upstairs or to safety.
The Environment Agency said: "Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water."River Eden at Carlisle, Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses
