A 28-year-old woman from Fleming Island died Sunday morning following a crash on U.S. 17 in Clay County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the woman was driving an SUV south on U.S. 17 near Pace Island Trace when she rear-ended into a pickup truck that was stopped at a traffic light.According to the crash report, the collision caused the SUV to overturn multiple times.According to FHP’s current traffic report, all southbound lanes of U.S. 17 at Pace Island Trace, are blocked as deputies conduct their investigation.Copyright 2024 by WJXT News4JAX - All rights reserved.Marcela joined News4JAX in 2023.
