Several Northeast Ohio communities are forced to clean up after flash flooding led to rain water and raw sewage in basements following a heavy rain fall.
CLEVELAND , Ohio - The Portage County Water Rescue Team had to be called in because the water was so high, there were people who couldn’t get out of their homes.
“I’m going to say the flooding in yards across the river were about four-feet high,” said Jennifer Holt. “It was almost up to the bottom of their homes and into their homes.” Jeff Haynes tells 19 News that he’s just hoping he can salvage some family keepsakes that were stored in his basement. The Haynes’ family says they’ve hired someone to help clean up the raw sewage on Sunday and access the damage.
