There are a few positives for England to take from their disappointing tour of India but they will leave with more questions than answers
England captain Ben Stokes has a lot to think about ahead of a busy summer of Test cricket last summer’s Ashes
However, England now need to reach the next level to consistently beat the world’s best and that probably means changes in personnel. After the innings defeat by India in Dharamshala, Stokes tellingly refused to comment on whether the team would be tweaked next summer, saying: “Sitting here, half an hour after we’ve lost the Test match and the series, I don’t think I can really say yes or no to that.”England will probably stick with Ollie Pope for the start of the summer.
If McCullum and Stokes are consistent in their way of going about things then Bairstow retakes the gloves to allow Brook to slot back into the team.
