Sources have claimed that the dog, understood to have been named Kilo, was recently brought to Scotland from England. Armed cops shot the 'dangerously out of control' dog after a Collie was mauled and three people were injured in Mannering, Calderwood, at around 10.25am on Sunday.
Police Scotland confirmed this morning that an 18-year-old girl will be reported with offences relating to the Dangerous Dog Act. Local residents in the area said online that the bully type dog had attacked the Collie before it turned on people who tried to intervene. "Three people reported receiving minor injuries during this incident. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the breed of dog and there will be a continued police presence in the area while enquiries continue.
The incident comes just weeks after a bully-type dog was shot during an incident in Hamilton's Tinto View.
