The overall size hasn't changed much, but there's a lot of new stuff to look at on the all-new, next-gen Mini Cooper hardtop.
, a mini tidbit, if you will: It's not going on sale here in America for a while. There is a not-mini gap between your seeing these first official images of the Cooper Hardtop and when you can actually go out and buy one for yourself. That's because the updated version will be a 2025-model-year offering; Mini only released these images in response to a flood of spy photos that captured the new model more or less uncovered in China recently.
The headlights are still round, but each one gets a pair of horizontal inner trim, and they seem to hover in a more minimalist front clip. This blue Cooper Hardtop is a sportier S model, and even it lacks corner intakes, making do only with two slim central grille openings framed by a mouthy lookin' shiny strip.Out back, things are similarly cleaned up, though the taillights make big moves, leaving their amorphous jelly bean shapes behind for more severe triangular units.
The changes give off a small effect, literally—the Cooper Hardtop looks small, though we don't have any official figures from Mini yet to confirm whether its dimensions have stayed the same as before, grown, or shrank. We note this visual shrinking only because as you're probably aware, Minis aren't terribly mini anymore, even these smallest two-door Hardtop variants.
Next to its missing dimensions are missing powertrain details, though we expect the new 2025 Cooper Hardtops . The name also reincorporates the Cooper name, officially. Of late, these two-doors were referred to as Mini Hardtops. We'll know more about the 2025 Mini Cooper Hardtop closer to its on-sale date, but that could be a while...
