Police are called as fireworks explode up to 6m from firefighters.
A crew was called to a blaze in the open on Tennyson Way, Kidderminster, on Sunday evening and put out what was described as an unofficial bonfire.
Police were then asked to attend due to fireworks being aimed and exploding up to 6m from firefighters, who retreated until officers arrived.A crew from Wyre Forest fire station had been called to the scene at about 20:30 GMT on Sunday, with firefighters dampening down the bonfire to prevent reignition.
