Emergency crews are responding to the scene of a structure fire in northwest Harris County.
– Emergency crews responded to the scene of a structure fire in northwest Harris County.The fire could be seen on Houston Transtar cameras located at SH-249 and Spring Cypress Road.The Klein Fire Department, Cypress Creek Fire Department, Northwest Fire, and Champions Fire all responded to the scene.
The Klein Fire Department said everybody who was inside the building was evacuated. They asked people to stay away from the area of SH-249 and Hufsmith Kohrville/Spring Cypress Plaza.At approximately 2:26 p.m., officials said the fire started coming through the roof of the building.Officials said at approximately 3:10 p.m., they realized they needed more equipment to fight the fire due to issues with water.
A three-alarm fire was declared at 3:56 p.m. This allowed for more units to come to the scene, namely to take the place of other firefighters who had been fighting the fire due to the extreme temperatures. One firefighter was taken to Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in stable condition and two others were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.Copyright 2023 by KPRC Click2Houston - All rights reserved.
