San Antonio Fire Department responded to a call Saturday night and found a smoldering air conditioner that was the cause for smoke in hallways.
JJ Trevino / Express-NewsFears of a fire on the Northeast Side forced some residents of a high-rise structure to be evacuated late Saturday might and early Sunday morning.When crews arrived, smoke was discovered in a hallway on an unidentified floor. Residents were evacuated, according to an eyewitness report.
As crews checked every floor for the source of the smoke, they found a smoldering air conditioner as the cause.No injuries were reported.
