The Paterson rapper and singer might be incarcerated, but he's making waves with his music.
Some videos contain explicit language/profanityafter he violated the conditions of his pre-trial release and he was jailed at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Police said he had threatened to kill someone in a video call.
“I’m very grateful for my fans and for my community because I wouldn’t be where I am without them,” Fetty said in a statement for his “Sweet Yamz” Thanksgiving giveaway. “Giving back, especially in my hometown, is very important to me no matter what the circumstances are.
When he first broke out as an artist in 2015, Fetty quickly followed his “Trap Queen” success with two other high-charting songs from his self-titled debut album — “My Way” and “679.” Fetty’s album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He released his second album, “The Butterfly Effect,” in 2021, after a series of mixtapes.
