Theo Squires brings you some of the moments you might not have spotted during Liverpool Legends' 4-2 win over Ajax
Liverpool Legends ran out 4-2 winners over Ajax in front of a sell-out 59,655 crowd at Anfield on Saturday.
During the warm-up, the strike-partnership were two of a number of veterans to partake in some shoot practice in front of the Kop. And the crowd were delighted to see both players score a number of times, cheering each successful strike loudly as they repeatedly found the corners. You could see how hungry Torres was to score at Anfield for the first time since New Year’s Day, 2011 as chance after chance went begging. He even ended up on his backside on two occasions, kicking the air when trying to connect with one Maxi Rodriguez knockdown in the first half, before losing his footing when shrugging off a defender and trying to shoot across goal after the break.
Although not officially retired, he made his Legends debut against Ajax and enjoyed a busy first half in midfield before getting withdrawn at the break.
