Federal regulators said they would open an investigation into T-Mobile US Inc.’s nationwide network problem Monday that knocked out voice and data service for many of its customers.
Ajit Pai, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, called the failure unacceptable and said the regulator will investigate the incident. The FCC has fined cellphone carriers including T-Mobile before for service failures, especially when they prevent customers from phoning emergency services.
