FCC commissioner Brendan Carr is calling for the popular Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok to be banned in the United States over privacy concerns.
Even Democrats are voicing concerns over Tiktok, with Sen. Mark Warner saying, “This is not something you would normally hear me say, but Donald Trump was right on TikTok years ago.”
Carr’s comments come as TikTok negotiates with Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to determine whether it can be divested from ByteDance, the Chinese company that created it, and remain in the United States.
