The FBI field office in Philadelphia said it is working with Philadelphia police and the FBI's Inspection Division to investigate the shooting.
In a statement from theA special agent shot an “aggressive” dog in the 1500 block of Spruce Street at an unspecified time, the FBI said.
The FBI did not release any information about what the agent was doing in the area at the time of the shooting, how many agents or law enforcement officers were present, or if any other agencies were working with the agent. The condition of the dog was not released Monday night. There were no other injuries reported in the shooting.
“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously,” officials said in the statement. The FBI is working with the Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI’s Inspection Division to investigate the shooting.
