The city has plans to bring life to the park with food trucks, events and special holiday lights and music.

“That will hopefully be a nice time because the weather should ease up,” Mashburn said. “Right now, it’s crazy uncomfortable outside, and that’s kind of the point of the park.”

On Monday, crews began demolishing the current pathways of the old Oran Good Park, and preparing the ground for dirt work. The demolition should be completed within two weeks.The new glow-in-the-dark playground in Farmers Branch is set to open this fall. The park’s 18,000-square-foot main playground will be decorated with LED lights and feature swings, an obstacle course and a zip line, along with a climbing sphere and slides.Once construction is complete, the city has plans to bring life to the park with food trucks, events and special holiday lights and music. Mashburn said he envisions children enjoying the park once the sun starts to go down, which is when the interactive light features will begin to glow.
