Leeds United's clash with Leicester City is on the same day the Whites-U21s game against Crystal Palace
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke admits he has a decision to make regarding Charlie Cresswell's involvement with the Under-21s given his need for game time. The England youth international has been on the fringes of the first-team after signing a new contract this summer and isn't a starter in the Whites' squad so far this season.
However, the 21-year-old - who impressed on loan at Millwall last season - also hasn't featured for the Under-21s leaving him in desperate need of game time. The same thing could be said about Joe Gelhardt, who hadn't featured for either side regularly prior to fracturing his hand. Fellow youngster Mateo Joseph started and scored for the Under-21s alongside Leo Hjelde in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool at the weekend after missing out on the clash with Huddersfield Town. Cresswell finds himself in limbo, still part of the travelling squad, but not picked in the matchday squad."Yes so, in general once we have a tricky schedule and we play every three days, we're careful not to send too many players to the Under-21s," Farke explained.
"Also Darko Gyabi and some other guys, we make a decision day to day. For that, I think during a busy schedule it's important - especially with those players who are likely to be involved in the first-team games - to be a bit more careful with game time in the Under-21s.
