'I saw everything was thrown around and it was obvious what had happened'
A family say they were “left in shock” after finding their home ransacked and jewellery stolen, after getting back from a play area with their kids.
Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed they were called to reports of a burglary just off St Albans Road, near Stanborough Park, on January 8. The parents said the stolen jewellery included family heirlooms and memories they wanted to keep, belonging to their children.The father of two said: “We went to the play area and when we came back home we saw the door to the patio was open and a window was smashed.He urged others to take the threat of burglary seriously and to take precautions.“We are a bit in shock, but we have to move forward.”A police spokesperson said: “Between 3.45pm and 7.
