'Life is precious and it can change in a moment'
The family of a Newark teenager who died after losing control of his van whilst speeding have issued a warning to motorists after their 'crippling loss'. George Sims, 19, was driving to his friend's house on the night of May 18 when he crashed into a wall in Victoria Street, which caused his vehicle to flip onto its side and skid across the road.
“We appreciate the outpouring of love and support since the devastating loss of our George," they said in a statement. "We want to highlight that one mistake can be costly."We are heartbroken that George was speeding. Since passing his driving test, George had always maintained consistent high percentages on his black box.
"We would hate for any other family to experience such a crippling loss, in this way, as we have. Life is precious and it can change in a moment."
