Gerry Tuite took over the running of the Wishaw business from his mum Mary-Jo

Gerry said: “It’s been a family business for 50 years that started in Coatbridge, it was my mum’s practice and 40 years ago today she opened this one in Wishaw. I’m a dispensing optician and moved between the two branches for several years and decided to take over the Wishaw branch.” The optician has passed on his wealth of specialist knowledge of the business to other young students as a university lecturer for 17 years.
