Nurse Sharon Duncan was given a six-week suspension after she abandoned 70-year-old Elizabeth Shield in a bathroom, where she later died.
The family of a pensioner who died after being abandoned by a nurse in a hospital toilet are demanding to know why the heathcare worker has not been struck off.
Lesley, 57, said: “I left Mum at 5pm that Saturday and she was fine and in good spirits. At 8.30pm we were told she was dead. There was a chance she could have recovered had someone been with her in the toilet when she suffered the aneurysm. By forgetting about my mum, they took away that chance.
