Family left heartbroken after Edinburgh man dies suddenly following knee op
The family of an Edinburgh man say they have been left heartbroken after he died suddenly following a knee operation.
"It was kind of just me and my uncle throughout my whole life, I was brought up with him. He was only about 18 years older than me so there wasn’t a huge age difference between us really. Last month Matthew's carers visited his home in Easthouses and rushed him to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he sadly passed away due to his levels being at a 'deadly rate'.
"His death was massively sudden, although he did have a cough for weeks. He was okay face to face but the phone made him anxious. Due to him being in a wheelchair, he couldn’t exercise so you couldn't really have a phone call longer than a minute with him without him getting breathless.
