Lancashire National Trust family events this summer - including archery and cycling
We're fortunate to have organisations like National Trust, which allows us to explore huge green spaces, historic, period homes, gorgeous coastlines, meet wildlife and adventure over interesting landscapes.
Below is a round-up of Lancashire's National trust locations and what they are offering families over the summer.Rufford Old Hall, West Lancashire Open: Friday to Tuesday, 10.30am to 4.30pm The hall also has an onsite Victorian tea room, serving cakes, coffee, light bites and soft drinks while there are also toilets and baby changing facilities Picnic tables are dotted around the site and please be aware dogs are not permitted in the North Paddock or Courtyard.
Take a look at the highlights of what Gawthorpe Hall, which is located near Padiham Village, has to offer families in August.Help catch the escaped gnomes in and around the hall's ground.Follow the National Trust ranger to find critters living in the pond, take part in the nature trail, snail racing or create natural crafts.Look around the textile collection, featuring intricate needlework, lace and costume amassed by Rachel Kay Shuttleworth, with the hall her family home.
