The road was submerged in flood water in the wake of Storm Babet
People living on a main road in Wirral have said they can't park outside their homes every time it rains.
The worst hit areas of Storm Babet appear to be in Wirral, with multiple roads being underwater after non-stop rain. Justin Bowen, 47, who lives on Ferry Road, said his girlfriend's car was among five vehicles written off following flooding in August. Residents are now forced to move their cars every time it rains for fear they could be damaged again.
He added: "The drain can't cope with that amount of water. This is not new to the council, they know this is a problem - it's been going on for years. A Wirral Council spokesperson said: “Council inspectors carried out some emergency general clearance work this morning around road gullies to aid the run off of rainwater. However, like many parts of the region, Wirral has seen significant persistent heavy rainfall over the last 12 hours and, as drainage networks have limited capacity, some standing water is unfortunately inevitable.
