Handy & Hot is an extension of the online bakery that award-wining chef/author/television host Vivian Howard started in Kinston, North Carolina (Via EaterCarolinas)
The shop offers coffee drinks, teas, sweet and savory hand pies, salads, boozy fruit, and snacks for customers on the go. Expect tomato pie and Howard’s blueberry barbecue sauce on the menu. Howard also collaborated with Cynthia Wong of Life Raft Treats to create ice cream offerings like a Pepsi sherbet with candied salted peanuts and a banana pudding bar.
After this opening, Howard will focus on her second Charleston restaurant, Lenoir, which will be a sit-down dinner space in the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel. Handy & Hot is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take a tour of the space here from Eater photographer
