Former Summa Health IT employee Rudolf Johnson was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for possessing child pornography.
in prison for downloading thousands of videos of child pornography, including recordings that prosecutors said were of “sadistic” child rape., 45, of Akron downloaded more than 86,000 files of child pornography, including some 12,000 files that FBI agents determined were “severe,” according to court records.
Defense attorney Leif Christman argued in filings for a much lower sentence, saying that his client showed remorse for his actions. He said Johnson drank at least nine alcoholic drinks per day since 2019 but promised to live a law-abiding life with treatment. “There is no line of reason that can justify incentivizing, coercing or, in some way, forcing a child into this sort of activity,” Johnson wrote, adding: “The impact accruing to individuals’ sense of personal well-being, confidence and ability to form a healthy mental framework so as to enjoy a productive life is catastrophic. It brings me misery and regret to have contributed to the despair of the victims.
FBI agents found that between April 7, 2022, and Feb. 21, 2023, Johnson downloaded videos depicting toddler-aged children, including some who were tied and crying while being raped. Other videos depicted animals and children engaged in sexual acts.
