A new script page from the EvilDead reboot's alternate ending details Mia's grisly death where she explodes while floating above the Necronomicon.
A new script page from the Evil Dead reboot reveals that Mia originally had a gruesome death scene. Horror fans had been craving Evil Dead 4 for years following Sam Raimi's 1992 film Army of Darkness. Ash Williams' storyline eventually continued in the Starz original series Ash vs. Evil Dead, but Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead reboot would first come out in 2013.
In the nine years since the film was released, details of Evil Dead's alternate endings have been revealed. The theatrical cut ends with Mia ripping through the final deadite with a chainsaw and walking into the nearby forest before the camera tilts down to the Necronomicon. One alternate ending shows Mia collapsing on the road and being saved by a pedestrian in a pick-up truck.

However, it would have eliminated the possibility of a sequel as Mia was the sole survivor of the first film.
And now that Evil Dead Rise is on its way to HBO Max, the possibility of seeing Evil Dead 2 is even more unlikely. Should the next Evil Dead movie be a success, Warner Bros. will probably continue the HBO Max film's storyline rather than bringing back Levy as Mia. Since Alvarez's Evil Dead 2 isn't in the works, audiences won't get to find out what happened to Mia, which means seeing her exploding over the Necronomicon could have been a more memorable way to end the film.
