Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is considering breaking off the agreement and is understood to be exploring alternative options

, majority owner Farhad Moshiri is ready to walk away from the deal agreed in September amid serious concerns over 777’s ability to fund the sale.So is the 777 Partners takeover off?

“I expect MSP to take over. What they’re trying to do is get their debts in an appropriate line,” Maguire says. were a high stakes gamble they have lost. With the Premier League unwilling to approve the deal until certain criteria were met – and the process dragging on for months – the loans kept 777 in pole position to take over the club. But now they join the back of the queue for repayment.. As well as the money owed to 777 and MSP, the club also owe more than £200m to Rights & Media Funding for a long-term loan and the club sought advice from debt restructuring advisers last month.

“I know one of the non-777 interested parties was happy to take administration, especially if Everton win this weekend,” Maguire says. Now it is up to Moshiri, whose leadership has been nothing short of disastrous, to do the right thing and find a deal that puts Everton on a firmer footing and allows the club to build. Breaking off the 777 deal and working with interested alternatives is the only way forward.
