Fire crews rushed to Newton-le-Willows Health and Fitness Centre, Warrington, around 1.59am on Tuesday.
They found the car had burst into flames when it is believed to have been charging at one of the charging points in the car park. Shocking pictures from the scene show a wreckage of the electric car where one wheel remains and you can hardly make out where the seats once were.Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews attended an incident at Selwyn Jones Sports Centre, Ashton Road, Newton-le-Willows in the early hours of Tuesday, 17 October."On arrival, crews found one motor vehicle, believed to be an electric vehicle, involved in fire.
