who say they really came into their identity during the pandemic. Many have emerged from COVID lockdowns with new looks, labels, and pronouns. For Sedeno, that transformation means being more openly queer on social media, something that just didn’t always feel safe.

"I feel like I want to explore being more feminine because of [TikTok]. I just feel like I’m allowed to now.”Like many during the pandemic, what was supposed to be a quick trip home turned into an extended stay that lasted over the summer. It was then that he began to doubt his online presence, resulting in him losing a sense of passion due to fear of not meeting a certain standard.

“I think social media can be really toxic and taxing especially for you to put so much pressure on yourself,” he says. “But then also it's such a fun way to express yourself.”
