Former Emmerdale and Coronation Street star Reece Dinsdale made an off-the-cuff comment about Michelle Keegan to his wife, that helped him to secure one of his soap roles
Actor Reece Dinsdale is no stranger to soaps. He not only played Emmerdale 's villainous Paul Ashdale, until the character was killed off in an explosion back in 2021, but he also starred in Coronation Street , where he played Michelle Keegan 's on-screen father, Joe McIntyre.
Reece – who showed off an impressive body transformation when he gave up eating crisps – joined Corrie in 2008 after he was asked out of the blue to try out for the role of Michelle's dad. The pair developed a close friendship on-screen during their two years working together, leaving Michelle particularly upset after he made the decision to leave the show in 2010.
"I love working with him, he's such a great character. I love him to bits, so it's going to be very, very sad."
