Grizzlies in Canada are starving as the salmon population withers amid climate change.

Excruciatingly thin grizzly bears in Canada are fresh evidence of the dire consequences of climate change and vanishing food sources for wildlife.

Salmon, a key food source for grizzlies, is at an all-time low, affected by climate change. Fisherman say the salmon population is the smallest they’ve seen in 50 years, according to CNN. The photographer added: “I sure prefer to show you beautiful nice wildlife and nature pictures, but it is important and my duty as a photographer to show you this side too. We have to protect wild British Columbia salmon — NOW!”Canada’s Mamalilikulla First Nation has been monitoring bears in the area for years. But their condition has drastically changed in the last few months, Jake Smith, the guardian watch manager for the Mamaliliklua, told CNN.
